^ IIRC, statistics have shown that red light cameras cause MORE accidents - however, they result in less serious injuries/deaths. More fender benders, less horrific wrecks. however, the only reason they get put up is to make money for the local gov... not to keep us safer. so f' that.

Well why should I even bother explaining my view if your mind is already made up??
Plain and simple, I do not think its ok for people to RUN a redlight. I do not think its ok for the local authorities to tamper with and go against NHTSA recommendations to exploit the cameras for profit.
Theres also a project in the works over in Brittan that the government is going to start implanting GPS chips in cars and track all speeds by satellite. Fines will then be mailed to the driver as would with a photo system, but this new system would be much more profitable and prone to corruption. Is this what you advocate too?
I agree that people need to follow the rules, but the rules need to protect the people and not exist for a profitable scam. Hell like I said before, give every cent to schools and fire departments and I will never bitch another word more.

If you are not running red lights...then you should never have to worry about light cameras. Personally, I am all for them. I've never had a problem with them because I actually stop when I am supposed to.It appears that you are advocating unsafe driving
