Subaru Forester mods
I personally think the best looking car in the Subaru line-up is the Legacy GT (both the sedan and wagon models)
.
The WRX has potential in the looks category but, it does need some major help. The Legacy GT comes with the same 2.5 engine the Forester doesn, but also comes with a LSD center diff, more aggressive styling, and if you're looking for room, the wagon fits the bill.

Tell me it's not a good car? Here is the rant from Subaru Japan, land of the rising sun with recession on it's back ... Whether you love it or hate it, it's here to stay. STi tuned, 184KW or 250ps otherwise backed with a factory 5MT without even getting any aftermarket treatment and this thing is a beast to drive! Talk about performance and handling, this thing is Class B in JGTC terms. Not to mention the factory HIDs, beast of lights.

In the UK we get the Forester S-Turbo. It has a detuned version of the old Impreza Turbo engine in (180ps vs 218ps). However, Prodrive will do "stuff" to it and bring it up to 240ps!! However, they strongly recomend that the suspension and brakes are worked on at the same time.
The grey import Forester STi has 280bhp in the UK

The boot's slightly bigger, though does have a tonneau cover which splits the load bay a la Stream, fastening onto the back of the headrests. The back door is very heavy now. The door is a full size one with an opening glass panel. It's a little more spritely on the road, though I suspect this is more to do with aerodynamics than the increase in power from the engine (about 8bhp). The dealer was frank in admitting he was worried about how it would sell initially. He expressed a view that a lot of Japanese cars now had styling that would take a while to be accepted. As the styling was "challenging" he predicted that the residuals on the old shape wouldn't be affected.
