Man what a day of temptation I've had today. It started as I was going to lunch today with a big grin on my face due to the 78 degree, sunny day. My grin faltered a bit as a Trans Am Firebird with tweaked exhaust jumped into my lane and slowed me down going through my favorite turn. He saw me run up behind him though, and when the next light turned green (and the traffic got out of his way) he gunned it. I saw what he was planning and stayed right smack on his bumper through 90 mph, when I decided enough was enough and backed off. He followed suit. I thought he'd have left me in his dust! Must not have been pushing all that hard. Anyway, that left me smiling for the rest of lunch.

Then tonight on my way to Pensacola, I pull up to a light on a 3 lane road...in front of me is a '9x Vette with *huge* exhaust and a big ass wing. To his right is a Dodge Stealth who's checking out my baby as he pulls up. And to HIS right is a white 911 Carrera . I thought for sure there was going to be a massive burnout from all 4 cars, but only the Stealth was looking for a race (I wasn't either, as we were in a 35 zone that commonly contains cops). The Stealth revved and pealed his *front* tires (must have been the AWD version...that have the twin turbos too?) but nobody bit. Oh how I wish we had been a better location...how frickin' cool would have been for all 4 of us to launch from the light?? Even though the 911 would have smoked all of us, it would have been fun . Ah well. Okay I'm done...not much point to the story, I just felt like sharing .

 

Well, it brought a giant smile to my face!!!
