They're Marching Against God - Your .02
Jay Li,
Here's my belief: humans have a modicum of free-will, granted by the indeterminsm of quantum mechanics. However, 99.9% of human behavior does not require nor involve free-will; most human behavior can be described by a suitably large finite state automaton.

Warren, that makes sense to me, but I thought you disagreed with my stance on free will. That's the topic I was referring to, not the reincarnation one.

How many times have we heard the sheep bleat this argument while in line to the gates of their Heaven?
Let's analyze.
Background: Let's picture a scene: a house catches fire, and an infant is agonizingly burned to death.
Question: Could we possibly describe God as "good" for allowing this happen?

Why would god knowingly take a newborn infant? If we are not here on this planet to live, then what ARE we here for? With that in mind, were we then only created to be a plaything of god? Maybe he just needed an animal that could worship him.
Holy Christ!
This is what religion does to people:
That's so disgusting it almost made me get sick, JonBoy. I'm serious. You actually choose to discard all logic and reason, and instead believe that THE CHILD'S DEATH IS JUSTIFIED BECAUSE ITS PARENTS LEARNED SOMETHING?
How can you actually believe a God who takes the lives of innocent people to "punish" the guilty is good?! Can God Almighty in Heaven not find a better way to punish lousy parents than killing innocent infants?
Please answer me, faithful one. I wait with baited breath.

The death of the child was the "spanking" [of the parents].
