Thinking of selling S for new Z
Though pretty stylish, from the pictures the interior materials look pretty cheap -- lots of flat, untextured plastics. Perhaps this is the secret to the <30K sticker?
But folks, don't be misled by the hype: this car is not at all a serious competitor to the S2000. For one, it's aimed at almost an entirely different market -- the "TT" market, if you will, of "sporty" (but NOT "sports") coupes. And while it may turn out to be decently quick for a 3200 lb coupe, it's just NOT (and not intended to be) a pure sports car. I'm predicting low/mid-15 sec 1/4mi times, mid 0.8's lateral roadholding, and pronounced tendency to understeer. Make no mistake: this car would be eaten up and spit out by the S2000 at the track.
Now, that said, the car is definitely stylish (I agree that it borrows heavily from the 911 and TT), and it looks like it'll be reasonably entertaining to drive. Hopefully it'll be the needed shot in the arm for Nissan, and I welcome the car's introduction.
