hmm I have had good coverage most everywhere I have been. I rarely get dropped calls on my iphone. Service is kinda expensive but can't complain. Customer service and the store I go to had been excellent.

Sprint is a better deal.

I've been with:
Cellular One
Ameritech
Cingular
Sprint

I will say that, at first, Cellular One was great, it went down hill. We tried Ameritech. That was crap, went back to C 1. Cellular One and Ameritech combined. Crap. I've always appreciated AT&T, in fact I love their U-verse service, but I love my Sprint Service, particularly now with my Blackberry.

Poor quality of service in the area where I live and their pricing models suck. If they didn't have the iPhone I'd avoid them completely.

ditto for me, but like every other carrier they are all a ripoff. Is it only me that has noticed cell phone rate plans creep higher year after year. The more people that get cell phones the higher the rates go should be the exact opposite

Ya AT&T coverage and customer service blows, not to mention insanely high prices compared to any of the competitors.

But they dont have to give a shit, because people only choose cell carriers for the flashy phones right? Company with the coolest phone wins, if it werent for the iPhone, ATT would be in serious shit right now...

Service is perfectly fine where I am, never had a dropped call or anything. 9 times out of 10, I have better reception then a verizon user in the same area.

I've been with them before the iphone but now that I have one I will say I'm annoyed at their iphone plans. The 3g service is much slower then what all the advertisements initially said. I MUST pay for an unlimited internet plan even though I almost exclusively use wifi. Still no MMS and now they are saying internet tethering is going to cost another arm and a leg

It doesn't matter what company you have, they all their good areas and their bad areas for coverage, it mostly depends on population and main highways. As for rate Plans, T-mobile has the best out there as of late, but if you don't have good coverage, then those plans dont do shit for ya.

The other good thing about T-Mobile is they have that @Home wifi service for your home, it kills my Blackberry's battery pretty fast, but worth it.

Sprint has a similar home-service unit... I pay $99 a month for everything/unlimited. I believe that's a good deal cheaper (or at least it was when I priced everything out last time) than either AT&T or Verizon.
