AT&T is fine if you ask me - coverage is 99% the same where I live and use phones, and customer service has always been fine. That said, I'd leave AT&T for TMobile if I could bring my iPhone with me because AT&T is overpriced (so is Verizon). For me though, the phones are more important than service and customer service - it doesn't matter if I can make a call or get good service if I have to use a POS phone every day.

My contract is up in 12 months so if I can't bring the iPhone then I'll just jailbrake it probably. Other carriers like Sprint and TMobile are just as good where I am and cost a lot less. I prefer GSM carriers though as I can use my phones in other countries just by using different GSM cards.

One thing I absolutely hate about Verizon is the voicemail message - you can't bypass the retarded "how to leave a message" text and just leave a message - very annoying. Plus, with Verizon there's the "you have to pay for every service" garbage - I remember when Verizon didn't even allow BlueTooth without an additional fee. Then there was the time Verizon disabled mp3 playing ability on its phones so you HAD to buy its songs. The coverage may be great, but the way it treats customers is not imo.

ATT will screw you.... trust me! This is from a 7 year customer!
I thought you got "screwed" because you wanted to upgrade two weeks early and AT&T wouldn't let you.

Ya AT&T coverage and customer service blows, not to mention insanely high prices compared to any of the competitors.

But they dont have to give a shit, because people only choose cell carriers for the flashy phones right? Company with the coolest phone wins, if it werent for the iPhone, ATT would be in serious shit right now...
agreed. im only with them because i get a decent discount through their corporate rates and my job pays my data plan. otherwise, i would have left a long time ago.

their customer service is just horrible and the service here in miami blows.

It fully depends on where you live, AT&T is the best service provider in my area.
thats true, but they DO advertise that they have the fewest dropped calls in the bay area, to this day i don't think they live up to that promise. i felt that when the company was just cingular the service was much better.

and yes, the price of the plan is ungodly expensive. seriously, the only reason i'm with att is because all my friends have att so i can just use mobile to mobile and not pay anything.

also, rollover minutes ftw, they really do save you from costly overages. just be sure to use them within the year or they will expire. in reality though, most of your rollover minutes will come from your "off peak" time. so a lot of times you're accumulating minutes you're probably not going to use.

Sprint and Verizon's CDMA phones suck! They're such a pain in the ass with everything.

Im not quite getting the whole "ATT coverage sucks" thing. Ive lived in TX, UT, NY, and AZ and have rarely had any service issues or dropped calls.

I do agree with others that say that they're overpriced. That could partly be because I'm a cheap-ass, though. I get a discount through work, but even with the discount, I'm not willing to pay the price for a data plan. Just voice & text for me.

i've had sprint and att as far back as ~10 years ago, i really do not like sprint customer service.

right now i have a smartphone on sprint and an iphone on att, data plans for iphones are a freakin rip off through att, considering i get unlimited everything (data/txts) on sprint for ~$20-25. my sprint bill is always under $60/month with unlimited everything except minutes.

since you aren't getting an iphone, if you plan to use the data a lot more than the voice, you should compare sprint, there really aren't that many problems, but when you want to know an answer, then you have to talk to at least 3 morons, all giving different wrong answers, before getting to a person who knows what they are talking about and can relay facts

Im a Verizon Wireless sales rep so I know for a fact that ATT plans are basically a mirror image of Verizon's plans. I dont know why everybody is saying either one is so expensive. Yes they are the generally more expensive than Sprint or TMOB but you get what you pay for. If you want shitty coverage then go get sprint. If you want a phone that works, go with a real carrier.
