Depends on what your going after. Sports, Dress, Fashion, etc. There are many different watches in that broad range.
Here's my collection (missing in picture: Rolex DateJust w/ Fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet):

I think my next will be a Chopard Mille Miglia!

nice work spanky.

I want to get a BVLGARI. Super sexy.

I've a tag for day.

I suggest, Breitling or a Raymond Weil.

a good watch stands out.....obtain one. You'll enjoy it.

IWC's low-end ain't all that bad. Tasteful and understated.

1-6k is a huge range with a plethora of watches in that range. There are tons of watch fanatics on this site, and each will have their own opinion about them.

You should probably save your money and buy a Seiko. If you want to spend some money and get something classy Omega is always a great watch in the 2-3k range. Tag's are a bit over-rated IMO. Rolex's are nice and flashy, but not a great watch really. If you get in the end of the 5-6k level, you should just really do your own research and pick what you like. There is just too much out there for anyone to suggest something of that nature without knowing what you want.

A Cartier Tank or Roadster is always a classy choice though, but a bit overplayed, but will never go out of style.

Probably the only tag I like. Although the Monaco isn't bad either. Nice choice.
