tipping the moving guys
I am having a couch delivered that i bought and want to tip the guys who bring it over. I am usually pretty generous with tipping the appropriate people i am just not sure what is considered an average tip for a mover.
That's what I've done in the past, but when I think about it, that seems like an aweful lot.
How many deliveries in a day 5? 10?
So that's an additional $500-1000k/week tax free for them. How much are they getting paid, maybe $18-25/hr? Do I really feel they should be making $80-100k+ per year? Nope.

I just hate that you have to pay to have it delivered and then you're expected to tip the employees that you're indirectly paying already. I hardly ever tip outside of a restaurant. If I'm paying for a service then don't expect more money. If the employer isn't paying them crap and they're relying on tips then get a better job. Tipping is out of control with fast food employees putting out jars and crap like that.

The other day I went into a tea shop to get some boba. I order, pay for my drink, am in the process of getting my change back when she says "tip?" and points the the jar. I'm like WTF? I've never been asked to tip...the economy must really be sucking. Anyways she didn't get her tip thats for damn sure.
