tipping the moving guys
Sorry but I have to pay to have my furniture delivered and it's usually $25 for something small (recliner, loveseat, bookshelf, or something) and $60 for a bed or big couch or something. I live a mile away from the store. I'm getting hammered for the delivery so there's no way I'm tipping two guys $20 to do a five minute job...
If we are talking moving your house full of goods to a new location, then it depends on the movers:
Did they quote you a flat rate or an hourly rate?
if hourly did they bust ass or lolligaggle?
if they charged hourly and bust their ass, I get them beers or lunch or last resort tip stright cash.
If they charged a flat rate then they have extra cash built into the price and I do not feel obligated to tip
A lot of my decision is made on how I percieve the situation. If they seemed on the ball and hard workers then yeah I could see tipping. It is a judgement call.
I use the same moving company for the past 12 years or so while I moved to new locations in my city. I have a relationship with them and we take care of each other. he quotes me good prices and I hook up his crew with a meal or a thank you case of brew.
