Watched the latest episode of Top Gear Australia last night. I fast forwarded through half of it. Those guys don't have an ounce of character or personality, and never have anything car-related to say. I was kind of exciting when they had one "foreign" car on the show, and old Camry. Then the two other presenters slit the poor Camry's throat and it sat in one spot for over half of the film segment.

Stig in the Merc Black was awesome. The presenters keep making idle kwips at him while he does his lap! So tacky. They should have more segments with the Stig driving cars and then just staring down the crappy ones.

Also do you know WHY BBC can take pretty much any song?? (ive heard everything from star wars to Beethoven..)
Well, seeing as they are also a Radio network, they probably have clearances on darn near everything.

They also have the back catalog of the BBC Radio Orchestras.

The UK top gear producers are some lazy fuc*s. I swear they only make 3 shows a year now and the rest of the time they just swim in pools full of cash.

Some background info for you guys.

Top Gear is a VERY old TV program that was about in the late 70's so probably unlikely that people saying they have every episode actually do.

I think it was the late 90's it had started to go down hill, viewing figures weren't good and the BBC decided to cut it. Presenter were Quentin Wilson, Tiff Needell, Vikki Butler Henderson plus a few others I can't remember (Clarkson had worked on the show but had left by this point) At about the same time a 5th terestrial channel was starting up and wanted a car show. They basically bought the show wholesale but not the rights to the name. Since the channel was Channel 5 they renamed it 5th Gear.

BBC decides to relaunch Top Gear. They get in the favoured presenter Clarkson (who'd been doing a number programs for them after leaving TG, go looking for Jeremy Clarksons Extreme Machines or Motorworld) and a new format. Et Voila current set up

Just for info as well. I believe Vikki Buttler Henderson has/had an S

I have a bunch of old 80's and 90's episodes, and yes a lot of them are lame. The fuel economy and prices episodes were great.

Dang it! Now you gave me more Jeremy stuff to get and watch!

Thanks for sharing the info, I already knew the history of the show, but I am sure quite a few didn't.

btw, I have claimed to have all the episodes, but what I meant was I have all of the episodes of TopGear Xtra (the new stuff). The older stuff never really appealed to me.

btw, I've watched a few of Jeremy's exclusive movies (Heaven and Hell, for instance) and they have just reinforced my belief that the trio is what makes the show great, not just the cars, or just the Stig, and not just Jeremy Clarkson.
