used to play airsoft. paintball is way, way better. airsoft is about 10% as fun to play imo.

mistake people make playing paintball is trying to keep up with the joneses. that is expensive, the sport is not. buy a 150 dollar marker that works, n2 tank, cheap paint, and go for it.

You should check your laws regarding airsoft guns and where you take them. Also, don't paint over the orange tip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've been playing airsoft for 5 years now and from what i can tell you it's the gear that will cost more. airsoft is more tactical IMHO, my team won the CQB championships two years ago in Norcal. It's more exciting than paintball IMO. You get to run CQB scenarios such as simulated hostage rescue etc...

here's a tip: invest in a quality gun. classic army, G&G, tokyo marui and the likes. the cost a little more but almost in all cases they're more reliable and serve better platforms for future upgrades.

I used to play a lot. I still own a TM p90 and a Classic Army G36. Both great guns. p90 is fun but magazines are a pain in the A$$! I would avoid p90s and just get something with a regular mag. The g36 is awesome and I would highly recommend that one. Very good range with it.

As far as companies go, Id stick with classic army for a first gun. TM makes a lot of good guns but they have WAY too much plastic in them. Once you figure out what you like you can buy cheap chinese made guns and build your own custom gun.

Heres some good sites to get em online.

and for cheap (but some are very good) ones
