Standing in line at the grocery, I flipped through a Popular Science mag at the check out and saw where Porsche may have plans for a Turbo Boxter in '02 or '03. It's supposed to have the same brakes and some suspention bits as the 911, but didn't get to read the whole thing. I believe it said somewhere around 295 hp but I'm not sure. Maybe when we run out of milk, I can finish the article.

 

I was at the Porsche dealer about a month ago and asked about the Boxster turbo. Keep in mind salesman don't know anything and want to sell what they have. But he said Porsche is not going to make a Boxster turbo.
I do like the idea of it as long as it doesn't cost 100k.

 

I have also read that Porsche will be bringing out in '01 as an '02 model of a Boxster biturbo - 2.7 litres TT with approx 300-310 hp.

 

They have to to keep up with the new M Roadster which will sport ~320 HP. The question is will Honda respond as well. Honda put a lot of energy into marketing the S2000 as viable and often superior competition to the BMW or Porsche.

 

Maybe the next S2K will come supercharged like Larry's
