Default U.S. sues AT&T for age discrimination

If I had AT&T service, I'd cancel the contract immediately and dare them to charge me a cancellation fee.

I don't see a problem with that policy. Most the people took a pay off to leave their position for early retirement to save the company money. How does it save the company money if they hire that person back later. That completely eliminates any benefit of offering early retirement packages. People are too damn greedy!

I want a pay off to retire early! Then when I use up my pay off I want my old job back!

This lawsuit has nothing to do with you or your contract.

^ I agree. They still have the right to charge an early cancellation fee.

what they are not saying is that these people that take the packages are getting amazing deals. i worked at verizon, and in 03, there was a package offered for early retirement. alot of workers had 20-30 weeks banked vacation (even though in reality they took it years ago) and VZ offered 2-4 weeks per yr of service and paid vacation and pension bumps. alot of guys i worked with took it and ended up receiving close to a million dollars and 2 yrs of benefits. on top of their pension and medical benefits.

for them to sue to come back is just ruining it for the young people. now there are no packages, no pensions, no retirement. the boomers are going to class action our country to death.
