Ungrateful kids...
You can be successful and have kids.....it is when work and "keeping up with the jones" gets in the way of actually being a parent.
Teach them a little disipline and show respect when needed....no kid is perfect but it certainly reduces the chances of idiocy in public and gives the kids a chance to grow up semi normal........
Most people my age (37) had parents who (like C-units) were *parents* first, then your friend second....... I can't even imagine *telling* my dad anything or yelling at him when i was 5,10 or 15 years old.....
Those little spoiled, mouthy kids are usually very poor sports as well. One asked my son if he was a girl for using a pink jump rope... I waited until that idiot picked it up and whispered to my son to ask him if he was a girl..... that kid was PISSED and threw the jump rope and stormed off......We laughed our asses off....nothing like a 33 year old picking on a 6 year old.

Ya, I suck at wits with people my age, so I head to the play ground.....
My youngest son is starting to pick up the concept of dishing it back....
my oldest son is more quiet and shy.... I need to give him some cough medicine to get him a little more vocal.. ....

umm i have a very successful dad and I am not at alll ungrateful no way.. i'm in college and i'm pouring my blood in guts into everything i do...yet again i'm smarter than most so i have to disagree w/ cunit BUT the main reason i ended up this way is because i grew up having a ghetto childhood, I was a bully in school an ass too many but one day I decided i didnt wanna be the deuchebag and i changed completely...anyway its not really the parents fault because you control who you are in the end, not the way you were raised and I knew if i stayed an asshole my whole life I'd end up suffering once i had to move out into the real world on my own.

most girls i know who are 'best friends' with their mom are also part of the group of girls who we run through on party nights, homecomings, club nights and such. They do their thing for a bit, and are usually on their way out after a little while. we call em 'temporary girls' and refer to them when they first show up as 'joining the team'
I wonder where that line is between friend and mentor, and how you successfully can straddle it?
