All Olympic competitors are remarkable and it's hard to quantify who is the best.

Here are some facts about Bolt and Phelps.

Event------------New Record-----Pre. Record----Diff.-----% improvement
100 m dash---------9.69------------9.85----------0.16---------1.62% --------Bolt
200 m dash--------19.30----------19.79----------0.49---------2.48%---------Bolt
200 m butterfly----1:52:03-------1:55:30--------3.27--------2.84%--------Phelps

I'd be lucky to run a 15 sec 100m and swim a 5:00:00 200m butterfly without dying at the finish line.

Stop talking about the number of Olympic medals because swimming is different and has many more opportunities to gain more medals than any other sport. No other sport has 8 opportunities to win medals, which include 4 TEAM medals and 4 different individual events. So yeah, stop comparing Olympics medals.

I suspect many of you have not watched Bolt in action. Let's just say Bolt is an S2000 and all of his opponents are a Prius and they race in the 1/4mi. By the finish line, his opponents are so far behind that they are barely a visible speck of dust. That's how much more dominant he is than his opponents, which include some of the greatest names in the running sport, such as Tyson Gay, etc. And it's done in such a short distance too (100 and 200m).

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but in my view, I have not seen anyone so much more dominant over his/her opponents like that. It's like watching an adult beating up on a bunch of children, and those children are some of the fastest runners in history too.

P.S. Btw, I don't mean to sound like a huge Bolt fanboy, as I don't like his cocky attitude. I'm just taken aback by his performance.

I think we will see LeBron James continue to mature and improve over the next couple of years. He's 24 years old and dominant in his game. He is one to watch.

I watched some show on him a couple months back. He's STARTING to do things MJ didn't do until the last 5-10 years of his carreer, while LeBron is only a few years in to it, and only 24. He's also about to be a self-made billionaire too. Hats off to him for sure.

^ haha

That makes Phelps' accomplishments all the more impressive

Bolt is out of this world. The most dominant sprinter in a while. I just don't don't think about athletes like him in the same light. So much of his (and, to a lesser degree, Phelps') accomplishments are because of his genetic inheritance. I think the influence of such factors - while still substantial- is decidedly less in other sports a la boxing, basketball, baseball, tennis, football, soccer, yaddy yadda.
