I wear a Timex that I bought for $30 back in 1991. I never understood the fascination with watches so many people possess. Is it the exclusivity? The durability? The features? Or something else?

i always wanted a decent looking watch, but nothing too crazy expensive. graduation gift was a swiss army watch which is good enough and i don't plan to replace any time soon.
and that is a nice deal on a tag... mm

Raj, since I know you're on 6speed. Check out l4p (luxury4play.com) they have a whole section dedicated to watches.
With that said, TAG's are generally not that great of a watch to those guru's.. and even the guys with 10 Pam's recommend a good "Stater" watch is a Hamilton. (Can be had for ~$500-1200).
Also, PM Riley, board sponsor rijowysock, he's a watch genius.

My wife never knows what to get me so I've received several nice watches over the last few years. I'd never spend the money myself. My favorite is a Seiko that she got me as a wedding gift. I also still enjoy an old G-Shock that I've beaten the shit out of and still looks and works like brand-stanking new.
