Default watching in-dash DVD monitor while driving?

Ok, this must be a pet peeve of mine, but in traffic the other day, i rolled by a lady watching a dvd or something on her in-dash monitor while in stop and go traffic! I wouldn't have even noticed exepct that I was annoyed that she had her left turn blinker on, so i had slowed to let her in. Turns out she was clueless as traffic stopped and inched forward. I think I passed her a few times before my lane opened up. AAAaarrrgh! ok, i feel better now.

My question at this point is...is it legal? or is it just stupid to watch TV while driving?

I can't help but wonder... what kind of car did she have? Was the monitor install factory or aftermarket? Some people are so ignorant they leave their turn signals on even without being distracted.

Someone here wishes to install in their S an LCD monitor with a DVD player and more so they have something to watch when they go camping. They got upset with my negative comments about doing this to their S. I could see if it was a camper, RV, or van, but a ROADSTER??? I just don't get it.

uhh, camping in the S? I guess you can car camp, but why a TV? doesnt that kinda defeat the purpose? whatever, to each their own I guess.

Anyways, the car was a nondescript 4 door import sedan. to tell you the truth, after i noticed the driver watching the damned thing, i almost forgot what car it was...i think it was an altima (1st gen). At least the road was perfectly straight.

I saw an add for a used Hummer that had a T.V. dvd playstation 2 I was like WTF why? I have seen these in other vehicles too I mean what are ya gonna do sit in your vehicle and play video games? No.1 you will run the battery dead or if u leave the engine running you will waste gas. Then you have to think gee why the F**K don't these people just go in there house and play video games?

In Japan the monitors are wired in such a way that they turn off when the car starts moving........

Take it into an audio shop and in around 5 minutes they no longer turn themselves off!

This is about as stupid as having the airbags removed !!!
