Woke up as usual for early days of a uni semester. Was looking for something to eat and something didn't feel right on my mother's face .. she was glued to the TV.

Afterwards it's all flipping between CNBC and CNN .. I remember calling a girl I was chasing and told her w/ a serious tone to be careful, the world ain't the same anymore ..

I had just gotten out of the shower, my home phone rang. I picked it up. My friend Josh who was working at Otis AFB on Cape Cod says "Turn on the TV. Any channel." So I did, to see the 1st tower on fire. He said he figured it was a terrorist attack. We were talking about it and then the second plane hit and we both knew it was bad. He said people on the base had been freaking out. Planes he had never seen before in his 3 years of working there appeared out of nowhere and took off.
I went to work and listened to the radio and watched on the net.

I had just gotten to my desk at work when a co-worker of mine came in and said a plane had hit the WTC. I turned the radio on (we didn't have a tv at the office) and listened to the whole thing. We were in midtown Manhattan and although we couldn't see the WTC, we saw from our window the smoke from the fire. It's just unreal. I, along with a lot of NYers, walked home that day, stunned.

I didn't go to the site for about a year but for weeks, I was reminded of what's happening down there because I could still smell the aftermath from my apt window in uptown Manhattan.

I was driving to a shoot in Atco, NJ to do a story on the Ricky Gadson motorcycle drag race school for a show on Speed Channel.

I was trying to tune in a local radio station and came across a station broadcasting BBC Radio. The British announcer came on and said something like "We're getting report of a passenger airplane that has struck the World Trade Center and that terrorism is suspected". I thought how could one plane hit the WTC and terrorism is automatically suspected?

Then I arrived at the location and they had a TV on in the motor home. The 2nd plane hit about 60 seconds before I got there. It was then when I began to understand what had happened.

Needless to say, this made the shoot very difficult to carry on but the attendies took a vote and decided to continue on with the school.

Also needless to say, it was difficult for people to put this out of our minds and carry on, but we did what we had to do. We also recieved updates throughout the day. We shot several soundbites were attendies mentioned the somber mood of the day, however all mentions of that fatefull day were edited out and the story aried in Novermber 2001 as if 9/11 had never happened.

Well, I'm a pretty big NBA fan. At that time there was talk about Tim Duncan and Dave Robinson being split up on the San Antonio Spurs.

So here it is, I'm waking up on 9/11, logging into my computer to check emails and low and behold an email from my bro saying the twin towers are gone! ( I thought damn. Then I turned on the tv and saw what he meant. Then I thought dayam!
