We Remember @S2ki
I woke up to the clock radio and heard the local DJ's debating if their kids should go to school or not. When the "CBS news break" cut them off to report the carnage, I flew out of bed to the TV. I'm on the West Coast, so I was up kind of early for class. I'll never forget picking up the phone and calling my mom. My side of the conversation went like this:
"Turn on the TV."
"ANY channel."
"Turn on the TV."
"ANY channel."
It's kinda' interesting really. I don't watch the news, I get my news from this forum, and anything that doesn't show up here isn't usually worth my time.
The morning of September 11 was no different, someone posted a thread about the event, I turned on the news, and there it was. I don't remember the thread, but it was way before the 2nd plane hit. Leave it to the peeps at S2Ki.
In all honesty, I'm not much of a people-person, but there is no way for me to express here the saddness I felt in my heart on that day.

I had just gotten off 3rd shift and was eating breakfast in front of the TV at home. It was crazy at first seeing it happen. When the next plane hit the other tower, I called my wife immediately saying that we were under attack!

Spooky thing is that this morning here in nyc, the weather was just like it was 5 years ago. Crisp, a little cool and the sky is crystal clear which gave me goosebumps all up and down my back.
I was at home, getting ready to go to work when my roommate called me to tell me. Needless to say, i never made it into work that day. i don't think i watch so much cable news in my entire life.
Watching it "live" again on MSMBC was so surreal...
The way people thought it was an accident, false reports of car bombs, multiple planes, bomb scares..etc...
How all the newscasters stated how someone should pay, that we need to attack...
yet 5 years later, people forget, think war is stupid... my how sort of an attention span we have... do we need to have another building fall for us to realize that someone, somewhere out there, is plotting to drive a car/plane/boat.. anything, into something in the US???
