1) education:BSEE, MSEE, MBA (in progress)
job: Dilbert at Fortune 10 company. I read Dilbert everyday and laugh...not because it's funny. I can't complain too much because the pay is OK and my monthly transp allowance pays for most of the S.

2) Would've rather used my EE skills to design high-end audio equip. Start my own company designing and building esoteric, outlandish, extremely high quality audio gear. Particularly amplifiers. The kind you build using one solid block of aluminum that is milled out to support components. The kind you need AC-DC rectification to support the gobs of juice you'd need to power it. Alas, this cottage industry has gone the way of the dodo.

u have degree in MSEE and u are doing MBA? wow. sounds like u were doing analog circuit. I am ph.d doing VLSI, gonna have to take my qual soon. Trust me, U wouldn't like a job in EE that much I don't like it at all, I kinda want to do MBA more.

hey revto...never took VLSI...my conc was mainly communication sys design but my heart is in Power E.

As for MBA..once you get in a career track and see how easy it is to make $$ with some basic presentation skills...you will be hungry for more. The MBA is teaching me what I missed in EE about finance/investing/econ/tax.

Best wishes on the PhD!!

I know exactly what you mean. finance/econ/investing ppl earn a lot more than engineers. I also have an MAE. Hope I can use it somehow.
Besides, the male/female ratio is significantly better in bussiness/econ school than in engineering(specially EE)
