What do all of you do for work?
Datacenter/IT Work for one of the major oil refiners here in the states. The primary function of my job related to Satelitte/RF network; though I need to be familiar with your standard ethernet based LAN/WAN Networking concepts as well. I hate my job, but I'm blessed to have it.
Go for the mechanical engineering!! I'm waiting for an engineer spot to open at my job!! That or supervisor which ever comes first.. So happy with my choice. You wont regret it..
I'm 26 and miss school man.. Enjoy it while you can!
. Where do you work at?Yeah I know what you mean when you say you miss school. I don't know. Just a rough time at school now I guess. I guess it's because my teachers are pretty bad this semester and I've been slacking. I just want to get into the engineering classes already. Chemistry and trig are boring (at least my teachers make it out to be) haha.
Just turned 23, graduated a few months ago with a Psychology degree. I'm currently a Mental Health Tech at a Psychiatric Hospital. I work the night shift, and my gf is in school so our schedules are completely ass backwards. The pay is enough for me right now, renting a room in a house that a buddy owns, can support my hobbies / lifestyle etc. and my job is crazy fun so far. I work in the Psychiatric ER in downtown Dallas so we see 40-60 different people every night. I have the craziest stories, and get a couple new ones every night, never the same, always gotta be on your toes, and I really like it, but it isn't what I want to do forever.
I plan on doing this while I get my graduate school stuff together, retake the GRE and shoot for either a masters in Kinesiology or doctorate in Sport Psychology. I was always into sports, so mixing psych / sports and make lots of money is what I want to do. Another 6 years seems like hell to me right now, but thinking of it as a 6 year investment for the remainder of my life, all of a sudden it doesn't sound that bad.

I have my masters in social work. Recently took a massive pay cut to move to a job I absolutely LOVE. Stress level is literally non-existent, which is pretty rare in my field.
Although my last two jobs have allowed me a great lifestyle, part of me wishes I had made this move earlier.
That's some good news

At the time I posted that, I was working as a Nuclear Mechanic Tech at a Nuclear Power Plant in south Florida.. As of today I found out that upon returning to work Tuesday (I just had back surgery) I'll be getting a promotion to a General Maintenance Leader. A GML is essentially a boss that runs a crew.. So I'll be running a crew of Mechanics at the power plant and doing all the oversight and paperwork that goes along with them. It's perfect for me as it's less physical and better paying than my previous position.
4 years of college is paying off huge for me, just stick with it Royal.. School is such a small part of your life and paves the way for the rest of your life.. I know trig sucks.. It does.. But when you wake up in the morning and love your job, you can laugh at the days you thought of giving up or switching to something easier.
EDIT: I'm still looking out for an Engineering or Supervisor job at the plant, I love the Nuclear field. It's awesome.. But couldn't say no to this!

Thanks!
Yeah I hear that Chic Fil A only hires kids with good grades and what not, but that McDonalds article was ridiculous..
.. Though.. I'm under the belief that hard work and determination and maybe a bit of luck is what got me where I'm at.. That and not taking no for an answer and picking myself up after falling down.
Or well.. That should work for anyone. Don't let anybody stand in the way of where you deserve to be. Not even yourself!...
Everyone has cool jobs... nuclear this... business that... I'm 25, invested 4 years of my life in education, got my bachelor's degree in nursing. now i work as a nurse here in norcal. the pay is really good for a 25 yo, i really can't complain, but you do have to do crappy stuff like wipe a$$. not the funnest job in the world... but since i DID get my bachelor's degree, i was able to get comissioned as a reserve officer in the US navy nurse corps. ocassionally i get to do fun things like go on humanitarian missions or travel to places i'd otherwise never go to. so i guess, it's an ok job to be a nurse.
