What is the most painless and quickest way to die?
I don't think this thread should be tossed. No where did I read that this thread is about suicide....some one did talkabout using a shotgun, which read to me on advice against "blowing [one's] own head off".
I for one was very intrigued by this subject in college for two reasons: 1) I had many deaths in my family during my college years due to unnatural events. 2) Finishing my major in Human Biology required that I finish two semesters of anatomy with labs...which included at least 50 cadavers in each lab segment.
My budding, curious mind pondered this same question about all the dead people "in" my life at the time. What did they feel at death? What did their minds feel at death? etc.
As far as the subject of suicide goes, I've known people that have committed and know people affected directly by those that have committed suicide. The one thing in common with all those situations was the fact that the topic was never discusses and almost always "swept" under the rug.
If the subject was talked about more openly, there'd probably be more understanding for the people that contemplate suicide and hopefully would result in less committed. Hell, in most case the first it's ever discovered that suicide has been contemplated is after a failed attempt!
This is an off-topic forum, it's a perfect place to discuss it maturely with an open mind.

anyone who is alive and well enough to post on this thread can't really answer the question. you'd have to die first to find out what is painless and quick.
btw, i think raptor is right. talking about suicide is just wrong. a philosophical discussion about death, etc. is perfectly good fodder for conversation but suicide aint cool.
