What "overpriced" items do you buy and...
Pelligrino water. I'm hooked, especially with a slice of lime. As someone else pointed out, water is free so why do I pay $1 a bottle for it (I buy it by the case at Costco, 12 bottles for $12).
Don't know how to answer this question. I am not cheap, but I don't spend anything for status. My wife and I, because of promotions for each of us are making more than I thought we would ten years from now. She likes the status stuff, jewelry and high priced clothing etc. I don't care for any of it. I wear a $25 watch from target. She tries to talk me inot Cole Hahn dress shoes for $300 and I buy some generic one for $100. I could have got a status car for the DD but bought a subaru station wagon. I put all I can into retirement so I can just give up working and travel and have fun as soon as humanly possible.
I do however choose to be an early adopter of electronics and buy that stuff, but I don't generally feel I overpaid because I am satisfied with my purchase. And I look for a sale. Picked up a 65" DLP last monday for a steal!!!! Mistu Diamond series for less than $2k. I think it was a great deal, and someone not into having a big home theater would say "Thats just dumb."
So how do you answer? I don't buy something if I think it is overpriced. I just walk, even if I want it. Although if I had one thing that I pay a lot for and feel I get nothing in return its local property tax.

it is funny how everyone has things that they are comfortable spending their money on, but won't spend it on other things. i for one will never spend a lot on any clothing or cosmetic things...except maybe a nice watch. but i do have two $2000 guitars and a $2400 amp...and i'm not in a band or anything....hell, i'm not even that good. i also dont have a problem dropping thousands on a saltwater fish tank

It's what makes us different. Different intrests and likes. I had a friend who collected guitars. He was an average guitarist at best, but has some of the most beautiful instruments, simply because he liked them.
It's kinda like my mountain bike. I rarely use it at it's potential, but I bought it because I like it. My road bike too, is very nice for a beginner's bike.
