Bring a computer, TV, DVD player, fridge, clothes, sheets, towels, sandles.

Figure out if you need to build a loft for your beds. Call your dorm and get the room measurments. They will also have a list of stuff to bring with you. Go ahead of time and check out your room on a campus tour if you can.

 

Beer, and posters of scantily clad women. LOTS OF THEM!

 

my room came with fridge and micro, I bought a hot plate and a toaster oven. ps2 small but good stereo, and a flat screen 42" for good meaure condoms too

I just had a year in the dorm last year. I must agree with everyone else.

LOTS of beer. I mean, enough beer for you to pass out at night before an exam, and then have anohter beer in the morning to get rid of the headache.

If your place isn't air conditioned, bring a big fan. Other than that, an alarm clock (hahaha...), nice stereo, and such.

You'll think of lots of fun stuff to do throughout the year. Enjoy.

im going to duke, my roommate's stepdad is a doctor, so we got a note saying we can put in our own a/c. microwave is good. need to find a smaller stereo (my speakers are 4 feet tall).

 

Don't know how the rooms are set up there, or how big, but it's a good idea to loft the bed so you can fit a futon under it. That way, if you bring a chick home, and sober up and realize she is ugly, she can give you head, then sleep on the futon.
