It is less them you want to spend and doesn't have the "tiptronic" transmission you requested, but I would look into a Civic Hybrid or a Prius. I am a little biased though as is stated in my sig..

 

You can get a great deal and I mean fantastic deal on an 2002 or 2003 Accord EX 4 cyl. My gal has one and believe me it has pep. Honda really has the four cylinder down. Gets great gas mileage, 30-40 mpg depending on where and how you drive, and goes as fast as anyone needs to. Great acceleration and everybody wants the 6 cyl that you will pay a premium for. It's a very comfortable touring car, quiet, lots of room, EX is a great package! Great car for the money. Galfriend got hers for about $22K because I bought my S at the same dealership.
