So what'ts the fastest speed that you have travelled across the SURFACE of the earth? Now, for those of you who are worried about incriminating yourself, I am asking how fast you have been IN a vehicle, not DRIVING it.

I have been inside a Corvette doing 132mph. That was the fastest ride. I was also in a 70 Mustang Mach 1 doing 120. Man was that scary, the car had no steering and was drifting about....according to the driver.

So how fast have you been?

 

140 in my MR2 Turbo.

I can't find enough road to get over 135 in the Stook. Eight years have passed since I had the MR2 and the roads sure have filled up alot!!!

130 on an absolutely deserted dead straight road in Death Valley, in my then new 1990 Acura Legend 5 speed. Beautiful experience. Rock solid stable. In my slightly modified 1993 Acura Legend LS coupe 6 spd, in the middle of nowhere Nevada, I ran it up through the gears to 135-140, still pulling very strong when I backed off. S2K, 93 mph, redline in 3rd. I couldn't believe it got up so quick so fast, or so fast so quick.

 

260km/h on a straight downhill highway in france (caught = prison, I think), with my s2000.
I was very bad at mathematics in high school, but I think it's 161mph.

as a passenger...135+ in my dad's Maserati Bi-turbo (what a ****ing piece of ****).

I think I have seen 140mph or more on the back of his (my dad again) V65 Sabre (motorcycle).

Wonder where we kids get the ideas to speed?

130 in my Porsche 928; 120 in a friend's Mini Cooper at night. We hit an armadillo and knocked it into oblivion.

OK so it was a kit not an original. It's still one of the most wicked rides on the planet!

 

I don't know how fast I got up to but the last time I looked a the speedo it was at 147 and climbing in a twin turbo/nitrous Testarosa. After 147 I didn't want to look anymore and it was getting kinda busy in there. I had my 930 up to 155 and I think my racecar will do 150, it doesn't have a speedometer.
