What's the fastest you've been in a car?
Hmm... Not going to win this one, hehe.
On a bike: Probably 40mph. Passenger only... "I'm *NOT* supposed to help lean?!?!"
Cars:
1988 Civic DX -> 210km/h trying to keep up to a Corvette between Toronto and London, ON. Canada. No, I didn't keep up... But, I found out that Civics got better gas mileage at 140km/h then 100km/h that trip tho
1997 Integra Type-R -> 8100 - 8200 RPM in 5th Gear.
on a big straight section between Cold Lake and Edmonton Alberta. Indicated speed? In that black area off the end of the dial (Dial ends at 240km/h) I'm guessing that in reality (the speed I would be doing the jail time for
) was 230ish(?). The car was rock stable, and I'll admit I my guts weren't, the only oncoming I passed was a guy on a bullet bike, the closure rate was
unreal.
2001 Honda S2000 -> 230km/h Wasn't comfortable enough with the car to take it beyond that at the time and I haven't found a section of road that I'd want to do a top speed run on yet... (You think that deer that went through the Durango looked bad imagine catching anything with more mass then a bumble bee at ~260km/h
, I mean sure... you'd probably make the front page of all the local papers, but where the fun in that when they're shoveling the combined human and deer guts into a hole in the ground.

I went over 100 in my mother's old 1969 Mustang Grande when I was 18 or so....
That was scary.
(She sold it last year.)
Roundabout the same time my Dad took me for a very, very fast ride around the back roads of Salem, NH in his 1978 Ferrari (308 GTS, yep they're common). I don't know how fast he was going, I was too busy hanging on for dear life.
Heh...
I'm kind of an old man on the roads, myself. My current car (see signature) is the most stable I've ever owned, especially with the Dunlop SP9000 tires, yet I rarely go over 85.
*shrug* Sorry.

Hi bArt2
When I got the S I raced it south of Paris on the motorway in direction of Chatres, and actually reached exactly 241 km/h on a flat piece of road. This was with a pure bone stock car, 1

Approx. 120 mph in my old '90 300zx.
110 in my S2k, Top down. Does anyone notice that when you are cruising at about 90 mph with the top down it is very peaceful. Not too much wind for some reason. Much more comfortable than 70-75 mph.
