Woops my bad
I don't mind the kids at play signs, like I stated in my first quote, it can only help the situation by making everyone more aware a reducing the risk of an incident.
What I don't like is the profiling that some of us have received by moms or who ever in neighborhoods who automatically assume we were speeding even if we were traveling below the limit. And whats worse is when I see soo many Moms in their vans or SUVs clearly speeding through the neighborhood. Cars that clearly cant stop as fast as my lightweight car with performance pads can.
Also, I think too many parents fail to make it clear to their kids how dangerous it is in the street. Just the other night my mom and I were visiting family at my Aunt's house. We left around 9 or so and my mom was driving. She was just pulling out of her parking spot, so she was maybe going 5 or 10 mph, her lights were on. The next thing we know, this kids runs out in front of her, my mom freaks out (has anxiety issue). She didnt hit the kid, but the kids mom was in a car going the other way apparently leaving to get groceries or something, she snapped at her kid, but that was it. If it was my kid, I would have stopped the car, got out, tared them a new one, and made them go with me instead of playing.
i get chastised for being loud, not driving fast... I usually stop my car and say something like... "really i thought i was trying to be respectful... hold on"
i then proceed to put the car in neutral and rev it up a couple of times.
"you must be mistaken... thats what my car sounds like when loud."
I put a huge effort into being respectful of other people in my complex. I kill my lights, cruise in neutral. and crawl through the complex when I come in late at night/ early morning.
Thankfully most children in my complex were raised by common sense parents. that and the 6 inch tall speed bumps every 50 ft dont let me accelerate past 10mph.
