I left a girl 5+/- on $15, and thought I was ok, but she almost screamed at me because that was all she made off of us, my friends didn't tip her and we were a large party that was there a while. I told her to **** herself, 30% is damn good.

becareful of the "mandatory tip". they still include a line for even more tip so if you're not careful, you could end up tipping twice.

 

If you don't think you get paid enough, then get another job. Nobody is forcing people to be waiters.

Do you really expect a 15% tip for doing to-go? Wow, you throw everything in a bag. I do to-go most of the time because I don't want to have to leave a tip and deal with waiting for a table and then waiting for the food.

 

And in the Canadian restaurants we say "why don't the American' tip?"

 

Tipping "to-go" is just retarded. Next thing you know, the girl working the drive through at Burger King will have a hand out for a tip.

 

i consider myself a pretty good tipper, however because im black i feel that some wait staff generalize me by my appearance and thus give me shitty service. you know, thinking that i won't leave a tip. well guess what? for your shitty service you get a shitty tip. it could easily get cyclical...

i hate when i go into a place say like hooters, where some of those chics feel like they are entitled to a tip. they give me lousy service but expect me to leave them a tip because they think they're cute. look, i don't care what you have on or how much you make an hour, my tip is strictly contingent on the service i receive, period. to think otherwise is unjustifiable to me.
