My parent's taught me how to save money by giving a good example of what not to do. I saw their financial misery and was determined not to live that way. The cost of college as an excuse not to go is just that, an excuse. I got my BSME for a whopping $18k. Used student loans to pay for all of it and used the money I made from internships to pay cash for the S2K with enough left over that I couldve paid off the $18k loan too. I'd be crazy to pay it off though since the interest rate is fixed at 1.6%.

Interestingly, my two brothers did not develop the same mentality and are terrible with money. Somewhere along the line, I must've experienced something very different than them.

Perhaps, however, some would argue that I'm terrible with money. I don't even want to think about how much money I'd have if I didn't spend it on cars....
