why are people so into sports
if people say it's just fun and games, cool.
but more and more, i've seen people get really nuts and violent about defending their team vs another team. do people realize that "their team" is a bunch of mostly african american guys who could care less about their fans, let alone their team? they are guys who are paid a dump-load to fill stadium seats. people research stats and memorize histories and act like the world has somehow gotten better or worse, predicated on the outcome of a arbitrary sporting event. people are even willing to look past obviously negative character defects of a guy on their team as long as he keeps winning. what gives?
to address those who would say sour grapes, my home team is LA.

i dunno,.....i could care less myself but all the guys i work with are sooooo into it,..every sport, every team, every player, they know where they went to high school, its lame to me,....i tell them to get a real hobby besides wishing they were some overpayed sports player themselves

hmmm seems like a racial undertone here...What if they're defending their hockey team...pretty sure it wont be mostly african american...but wait...roger clemens isn't african american....pete rose isn't african american...bad characters are everywhere...and how do you know that these mostly african american guys don't care about their fans...did you try to say hi to kobe and were to short for him to see you or something?

Your initial posts contained questions that were interesting and humorous, but as time goes by, they keep getting more and more ridicidulous. What happened? A lot of your recent threads are just differences of hobbies and interests, which then contains huge loads of generalizations and some racism. = T Seems a bit too cynical to life... OP - what about car nuts? i have memorized a bunch of shit related to cars....i know how much hp, 0-60, qtr mile, cost, etc.....

i was specifically inspired by the NBA, ergo, african americans. but yes, white hockey players too. actually, hard to find people crazy about the nhl. get over the racist crap. i'm a self proclaimed racialist. know the difference.
guys who are crazy about cars do not think the world will end if a certain car stops being produced, etc. this country's fascination with winning and being number 1 is simply scary. if a series goes to 7 games and one team barely exceeds the other, the fans are like " WE KILLED YOU!" which is obviously untrue, but rather luck was on their side that particular day. There is no answer, but just thought it to be humorous.
