Post Wife and I finally bought a house!

After wasting over $100k on cars (in mods alone), the wife and I finally buckled down and purchased our first home. It is a new construction home located in Winchester, California. It is 3200 sq ft, the lot is 7500 sq ft, has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a garage that could fit up to 4 cars (depending on their size, of course). Beazer Homes is the construction company and they did an exceptional job! The following pictures do no justice for the home as it is even better in person!

Well...as we all know...the housing market has taken a significant hit...and market isn't going to stabilize anytime soon. Interest rates are going up and down like a roller coaster and lenders are becoming increasing anal when it comes to approving home loans. As first time home buyers, and having blown a butt-load of cash on cars instead of saving, our purchasing power isn't that high even though we make a decent amount of money.

So, we looked to purchase a new construction home outside of San Diego County and bit the bullet in terms of the commute. We ended up purchasing our home for $310k. The sales price of the house was $299,990 (discounted from $349,000) and our offer was $310k with seller paying all reoccurring/non-reoccurring closing costs, a G.E. Profile stainless steel refrigerator, and G.E. "normal" washer and dryer.

Our daily commute is 65 miles one way. We recently purchased a 2000 Integra (automatic) for our daily commuter. Although the commute will be long, it will all be well worth it given the nice home we have purchased!
