I have Win 2K on my laptop and Win ME on my desktop. Win ME SUCKS sooo bad. I can't wait for XP to come out so I can upgrade to it. I'll still keep my laptp Win 2K, since I really like that stability of Win 2K. I'm defintely getting rid of Win ME though. It's a POS.

 

Were you able to get it off the net? If so, how? Looking for upgrade. Will probably purchase Win2000 with laptop but I'm game for XP with my current pc nightmare.

 

I have been running win2k for over a year on my laptop and desktop, wouldn't go back to any other os. Not too sure about winXP, it needs lots of power and that crack which I dont have.

The programs listed in my other post, are how they were released onto the net, plus their release groups. They were released 8/28/01 - 8/30/01.

I'm not condoning the use of pirated software by listing them, just letting you know they have been released!

that activation crap is why I will never install XP(I always buy my s/w)... I change my h/w so oftern that it will only piss me off to try and keep updating XP so it knows I own it. WIN2K forever for me.

 

oh and by the way... win2k works perfectly fine with my wireless network(d_link).

 

Headed out to a XP demonstration this weekend. If I'm not totally floored, I'll upgrade to 2000 and get the notebook in a 2000 OS.
