Workout help.
I don't know it these things have already been mentioned (I havn't read through all the posts).
But when it comes to dropping weight, your at least doing the right thing by getting as much info as you can and hitting the gym.
In the gym I would recomend you start with about 5-15min of a LIGHT cardio warm up, and then hit the weights for about 45Min (any longer and testosterone tends to drop, so it can be counter productive as a begginer). Then after that hit the cardio. Or if you have the time you can seperate the cardio and weights (Cardio in the morning, weights later in the evening or the afternoon).
As for diet, eat smaller meals throughout the day. DON"T skip meals to try and lose wieght. (But also be carefull not to eat to much just because you supposed to eat more throughout the day, eat when your hungry and don't when your not.)
Remember to change up your routine as well. your body adapts very quickly and you need to constantly shock it.
As someone who has made this mistake, don't just read the BODYBUILDING magazine with the biggest guy and do His routine and expect the same results. There are A lot of 'factors' that go into those guys. Also if you are considering getting a personal trainer, ask about there certification process. Some Gyms are 'in House' certifications which tend not to offer as much info(although they still can be helpful). It's worth paying for the Elite trianers if you use them once or twice to TEACH you some things (you sound like you have the decipline down already) But a Trainer can help you Reach your goals, even if you do only one session (which most gyms offer Free when you sign up, just be prepared to say "NO" to them selling packages at the end if your not interested. I remember I did one session where me and my client didn't work out at all, he just spent and hour asking me questions and taking notes.
