I haven't seen him on today. I doubt we would hear anything for a day or so.

My parents are in the DC area. Land/cellular phones were swamped. Dialup accounts don't work under those conditions. New York is obviously even worse.

(And if I waited two seconds I would have seen that someone has.)

My condolences go out to this terrible tragedy in the States. Sometimes the world needs to be reminded that such events do happen. When I first heard it approximately 12 hours ago, I thought it was a joke untill I turned on the TV a few minutes later. I've been following through this since it's started while it's on TV at every station in Australia. I believe this is just the beginning of something really drastic that is going to happen that will affect the world in many different ways. I just hope this does not spark WWIII.

Majority of the Palestenians are unarmed........

Majority of the Israelis are.......

As I'm sure most of you know by now, more Palestenians were killed by Israelis (for whatever the reason is).......

The US Gov yesterday made statements strongly supporting the Israelis.......(it took that position before as well, not only by making statements, but supplying huge financial support)

That is why you saw some Palestenians cheering today (which I thought was sickening)...........

It is also premature to assume that Afghanistan or Osama Bin Laden is behind what took place today..........

What took place today required a massive amount of planning and organization, not to mention rousources way beyond the reach of Palestenians or a poor country like Afghanistan........

I am not defending anyone here, I actually detest the extremest, non Islamic behavior that someone like Osama Bin Laden and this Taleban group have shown in the past...........

I can't stand this BS with CNN talking constantly about how everything points to Osama Bin Laden, the same BS was said when the Oklahoma city bombing took place but then what do you know?!, it wasn't an Arab or Islamic attack like it was being assumed at the time..........

Of course we have to drill it in people's head that anything or anyone associated with Arabs or Islam is a TERRORIST MONSTER, that is why we keep talking about and analyzing the WTC bombing in 93 and comletely forget about (and not even mention) the bombing in Oklahoma city...............yes that is what the media here does and I am ****ING SICK OF IT.

I'm sorry to say this, but some of you made premature assumptions based on what you saw on TV today (i.e. you saw Palestenians cheering, but you never saw them getting their asses killed)............yes, the media has been showing one side of the story, and unfortunatly, the public blindly believes that one side. The group that is behind what happened today can be from any race and religion; I never assumed that all white folks are nuts (or evil) because of what Hitler or the Oklahoma city bomber did and therefore did not assume that it was a white person or a christian or whatever.

sorry.........had to vent...........

I work in 570 Washington St, about 5 minutes away (by car) from the WTC, I am okay, I actually never made it in the city this morning, but saw most of what happened on the bus nearby the Lincoln tunnel.............very very sad.

I pary that whomever did this will be brought to justice and that they recieve the maximum penalty and punishment possible.

What happened today was tragic, to say the least, tragic and very very sad...........God rest the souls of all the victims, may God grant their families patience to live through this.

Wow.

What a day.

Just after making one of the first posts to this thread a left the office (50st Midtown Manhattan) and met up with a friend. We went to NYU medical center to give blood and volunteer.

I just arrived home in NJ. Every day as I return home from the city I look out the window of the train at the New York skyline. I will never forget what I saw today.

My prayers go out to all that are involved in this. Without doubt we will all know someone personally that was directly affected by this tragedy.

I thought the same thing. We've been very quick to point the finger.

But the fact is, Osama Ben Laden is a terrorist. And terrorism deserves condemnation no matter what the incident.

And the celebrations shown in Palestine sicken me to the core. If I heard of a mosque, synagogue, church, or shopping mall being bombed I would be very sad at the loss of innocent life, regardless of race, colour, or creed. It horrifies me that some people opposed to the US government can project this hatred onto US citizens.
