Dating a cop we have this conversation all the time... he lets people run, calls in the radio and has the helicopter find them (easy enough with thermal, no way running that hot/that fast you're going to hide, even in parking garages, etc). We were on the phone the other day when he clocked and pulled at C6 at 138 in his Hemi Charger. The guy ran, pulled into a parking lot, shut everything down and tried to hide.. didn't work. Impounded daddy's car and went to jail for the night.

So I would just pull over and hope for the best.

[QUOTE=Saki GT,Feb 2 2009, 04:56 AM]If you passed a parked cop at 130 mph, you'd be out of sight before he got onto the road, much less got up to speed.

oh sorry, i should add:

name of car/hp@crank/top speed

the rwhp is calculated through 20% loss. (or awhp for sti, a4...)

-edit-

also assuming that peak power is at the drag limited speed (Gearing needs to be correct)

In those circumstances, no.

Only time I ran was in my prelude on backroads. speed limit was 35, passed a highway patrol at 70 going the other way. Saw him slam on his brakes and start to turn around. Punched it and was able to make my way to a friends house. I never knew why he was on such rural roads, I can only assume he lived out there and was heading into work.

I used to own a 9C1 caprice. Austin PD even let me keep the spotlight! I got it up to 154mph once. It reached 138mph easily, after that it creeped up. It ran a 15.4 (with my lack of experience) in the 1/4 mile. It was a boat to drive, but from a roll at any speed it was a bullet!!
On the HWY everyone gets out your way when they see it in the rear view mirror. I was also lucky when i was younger and stupider in that car, Cops & State Troopers would let me off with ALOT of warnings!!

Back to Topic: I would pullover!! Admit i got busted and deal with the consequences, hopefully the officer won't arrest me!

I would definitely pull over. There are just way too many risks I would be taking in running. My life being the most important, but I will never put myself in that situation first of all.

I can't believe the amount of people that would actually try to run. Not judging, just in disbelief.

saying you'd try to run on an online forum poll vs actually doing it, very different things...
