WRX runs 10's... (video)
They ran an 11.2 without NOS. They just finished the car the night before and they were launching conservatively. The white WRX in the other lane ran a 12.5.
an update from one of the guys at i-club...
The car:
2002 WRX Sedan
2.2 ltr bored EJ20.
5 speed Chalak dog box, stock case
Standard open front diff!! (thing spun the front wheels like whoah)
T-66 turbo running 30psi
Microtech engine management
NOS (not sure how big of a shot)
Race gas tank w/ outboard fuel pump
Mufflerless, catless, straight through exhaust
Rigoli front mount intercooler plumbed to stock TB location
Here are some interesting tidbits I figured out while poking around.
They recieved the motor in a crate last night, installed it, and run a fricken 10 second pass the next day
STOCK EXHAUST MANIFOLD!! (albeit w/ a custom uppipe and downpipe)
Stock fuel rails hacked up to run in parallel (nice mod)
FULL INTERIOR (no gas tank or spare tire though)

I just found this info from the guys at Easy Street (the owners of the car):
T-66 Turbonetics ball bearing turbo charger
Micro-tech engine management
Custom ESX/Rigoli intercooler and piping
Fuel system:
4 750cc injectors and a Bosch fuel pump
Oznos nitrous kit with a NOS bottle
transmission is a custom 5 speed dogbox
custom brass clutch
stock drivetrain - axles, shafts, diff's etc.
Interior
6 point NHRA certified roll cage
a pair of 5 point DJ seat belt harness's
Autometer Phantom Tach w shift light, oil press, and H2O temp in stock position.
Autometer Phantom boost guage in dash pod
standard interior otherwise.
12.5 lb Velox wheels w/ Falken Azenis tires
bigger hood scoop and a spoiler risers.
that's about it.
Our first run was 11.2 @ 134.9 MPH, this was with NO nitrous,
28 lbs of boost
1.89 60 ft. really easy launch and mellow shifts
Our second run was 10.73 @ 135 MPH
that was with a 50 shot of NOS and 28 lbs of boost
lot's of wheel spin at the start and in third gear, and we had a lot of clutch slippage in fourth, enough that we had to shut off the nitrous early in fourth gear. That's why we had the same MPH as our first run but with a much quicker ET. A slower 60 ft however.
Our third run the tail shaft of the trans broke.
oops.
However we repaired it and headed up to Sacramento for the CMI Import shootout. Which nobody has spoken about at all. I suppose not many I-clubbers were in attendance, however there was about 10 WRX's.
We only ran 1 time.
I believe we qualified in 1st position in the quick 8,
we ran a 10.8 @ 129 MPH
the clutch slipped in fourth and went to rev limiter and I shut it down, therefore the low MPH.
We had a lot of fun over the weekend and we look forward to seeing all of you guys at the track
