Default XM loosing commercials in Feb

Seems Xm has seen the light, no more commercials on the music channels starting in Feb.

Do you have XM installed in your S, gaebril? If so, where/how did you mount the antenna? (got any pix?)

Not yet. My alpine HU is xm ready, but I haven't gotten around to getting everything else. I had xm in my old car though, and figure sometime this spring when it warms up I'll install it.

If you do a search there are several pictures of people with the install of both xm and sirius. I only posted this because I still get the xm newsletter and there was some arguement about who was better because sirius is commercial free.

The best place to mount a satelitte radio antenna IMO is in the secret compartment. A lot of S owners have it in there...

That seems reasonable, but won't the top (when its up) affect reception??

hey Chazmo - yes a few members have placed the antenna in the secret compartment and they still get a pretty good signal. I mounted mine just behind the rear window

i'll shoot some pics in the morning

The antenna should be fine in the secret compartment with a soft top- several of my friends have had satellite radio (both XM and Sirius) installed lately, and installers are putting the antennas on dashboards in hardtop cars.

Personally, I used the area in front of the trunk lid to mount my magnetic antenna. If I am park in a high crime area, I just toss the antenna in the trunk.

XM is also adding/updating their programming... a few new channels and dedicated weather info for major metro areas.
