I thought that a Faraday cage (i.e., surrounding the antenna with metal) would be a problem. Perhaps microwaves travel differerently than other parts of the EM band.

My Physics may be faulty -- it's been a good 25 years since I studied it.

I have driven my car in areas with no repeaters, and CLEAR AS DAY BABY!

Metal to metal contact....as in my case, turns the ENTIRE trunk lid into an antenna.

As for losing signal....you would have lost it no matter where your antenna was mounted

I must say though that the spot on the inside of the trunk is a great idea. NFRs2000NYC great location.

Yep, I just got back from the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas and XM announced no commercials on their music streams. I also saw the new Kenwood Sirius antenna to be out this spring. It is much smaller than before. About a 1.5" -1.75" footprint from sight.

Anybody have a comment on programming content, XM vs. Sirius?
