it just amazes me how dumb people can be.

like a piece of cardboard is going to help. the cost of new paint would exceed an insurance deductible. About the only thing you can do is keep it shielded and try to get the nose pointed in the direction of prevailing wind.

I dont see why this is dumb. Hes protecting the glass from the pressure of the wind speeds, not from objects that can become projectiles.
