That is it! That is the last straw. Today is the last day I will let these vermin with no manners get away unscathed. When I hold the door open for someone and do not get a, "thank you" back....I will shout like a mad homeless bum looking for my next crack binge "YOU'RE WELCOME ASSHOLE!!"

Sorry I had to get that off my chest. Have a nice day.

Why yell when a good hipcheck will suffice?

Your bad for expecting too much from a stranger.

Stop being nice, it's the only way.

I just hate it when I'm at work and say hi and welcome to people walking in and they don't even look at me.

YES!!

I thought it was only happening at my office, and we're all friends. People would leave for the day without saying goodbye, enter without a hello, etc.

I know a lot of people who don't acknowledge things like this and when you confront them immediately after they think they did respond. My friend does it all the time. I'll make a comment like, "Still working on that project?" and get no response (while looking directly at them) and when I say "Soooo are you not talking to me?" they respond with, "I said yeah."

Weirdness

I tend to be an ass right back and say your welcome, just loud enough for them to hear.

Another pet peeve of mine.

Seems to happen often with the wait staff all over the place. They servr me a drink, refill, the food order, or whatever and I say "Thank you." In reply I get, "You welcome.", not "You're welcome." For some reason that bugs me.

I also agree with the OP about rude people.
