ZOMBIES! Thread for all things Zombie
The Walking Dead episode last night.... WOW!
This episode picked up right where the last episode left off, with Shane and Otis running through the high school being chased by geeks (zombie nickname in the TWD). There was a lot of zombie action in this episode with a lot of great kills. There were also some gruesome graphics as one zombie was some poor schmuck that decided to hang himself in the forrest. After he kills himself, he reanimates as a zombie and is just hanging there by the noose. From the knees down he is just bones as other zombies have pretty much picked 'em clean.
We also get to see a lot of Shane's character here, and what type of guy he is. Nothing will get in the way of those he cares for, whether he makes the wrong or right choice. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen the episode yet, but wow that was a good one! Best of the season by far!

Zombiewalk in Long Beach Saturday night was just nuts! Thousands of people, wicked costumes & make-up (20+ pro booths if you wanted help), and stupid fun like the Thriller dance jam-packed in a big parking lot.
I have a couple of iphone vids (weak). See http://www.lbreport.com/mello/zombie11/zombie.htm , especially the night video posted lower on that page. And there are a ton of pics here -- http://www.facebook.com/ZombieWalkLB?sk=photos . And I see some here -- http://jack.radio.com/2011/10/30/pho...-walk/#photo-1
Well, The Walking Dead was fantastic last night.
Spoiler below for those who have not seen the episode.
Not too much zombie action, but there was a really cool scene with zombie that wandered into a well. To try and keep the water from getting contaminated, they lower Glenn by rope into the well, with his job to put another rope around the zombie. As you would guess, one of the anchor points for the rope gives way and Glenn starts free falling down the well, only to be caught just in time from landing in the water with the zombie. The crew recovers just in time and begins to pull Glenn out of the well. As they pull Glenn out of the well, he still managed to do his job even though he was inches away from death.
Now they are pulling the zombie up out of the well to dispose of it topside (again to try and keep from contaminating the well water). As it is halfway out of the well, the zombie's back is caught on the edge of the well and the crew puts some extra pull on the rope to try and yank the thing out of there. Unfortunately, since the zombie was water-logged and swollen beyond belief, they succeed in ripping the zombie in two with lower half and showers of blood and guts raining into the well.
Great scene visually. TWD didn't hold back on it at all, it was pretty awesome.
After that whole ordeal, Glenn and Maggie (the vet's daughter) are sent to town on a scavenge mission. During the last episode, these two were flirting a bit and one thing leads to another. There was some funny back and forth in the pharmacy they were pilfering and Glenn ends up smashing!
to Glenn!
Again, this show has been doing some excellent story telling. There is even a scene where we see this mysterious barn in the background and Rick is told by the vet to not go near there. What could be hiding in that barn?

WTF? Do you want people to watch this show, or do you want to post up a recap of what happened after every episode to make sure people don't bother actually watching it?
If you are getting paid to post about this show, you are doing a shitty job of earning your money.

It's called a discussion. I figure most people coming into this thread have seen the episode and would like to talk about it. Did I spoil the episode for you? If not, WTF are you all pissy about?
You figure most people watched the episode when it first aired and immediately went here to see you tell them what they just watched? Really?
My only complaint is your post is a detailed description of a dramatic scene. If you were sure anyone reading it had already seen the episode, why describe it in such detail?
The issue is that I happen to like the show but can't always watch it when it premiers. Nobody needs a blow-by-blow of "last night's episode." They either watched it, have yet to watch it, or have no interest at all. Who do you envision as your audience? People who would love to watch it but would rather you tell them what happens and save them the time?
I'm still not understanding why you would write something like you did immediately after the episode airs. That info might belong in an episode guide somewhere, but not in a thread titled "ZOMBIES! Thread for all things Zombie."
It's not the end of the world (ha-ha) but knock it off. Or put it in a thread clearly labeled as to spoiler content. I think there's even a subforum around here for movies/TV shows.

Last night was another good episode. This series is not just about zombie killin', there is also a story to tell. This may be the first horror/drama of it's kind to win an Emmy. The quality has not suffered with Darabont gone, like some people believe. These characters are being explored and are trying to convey the realism of what emotional and mental tolls are being taken with such a catastrophe. Some notes below, spoilers in white.
Maggie seems to get hotter each episode.
I was gutted when I thought Andrea actually killed Daryl. Glad to see that it was just a grazing shot.
Dale's comment was pretty funny, "Haven't we all thought about shooting Daryl?"
The barn zombies are freinds and family of Herschel IMO. It makes sense as to why he doesn't want guns on the farm (the sound would agitate them) and why Maggie got all emotional when they killed the Well Walker last week. She probably knew him.
