The CE28 is hands down one of the top 5 best wheels you can put on an s2k. And despite what everyone says I don't think they are that common or played out. I just think the people that have them post a lot.

I'm not trying to say they are rare either. I'm just saying it's not like it's 1/10 s2k owners have them. They have't quite reached the played out stage just yet. Now the RPF1s are a different story I love the rpf1 almost as much as a CE28 but they really are played out.

Now if only I could find someone that would trade me a set of 17x9 +40 TE37s for my 17x9 +40 CE28s I'd be a real happy camper.

I had time attacks. People have rpf1s because they're super affordable. If ce28s were that cheap they would be even more whored than rpf1s.
I had both those wheels and they got old quick everywhere you go somebody has them at shows.

True, I won't agrue that with you. But the fact is both are great looking wheels for the s2k. I'm tired of seeing all these whack setups people run just so they can be different. I have no problem going to meet and seeing 5 others with CE28s b/c the likelihood of their entire car being exactly the same as mine is slim. And at the end of the day I have them b/c it's what I like not what everyone else says is cool.

And just so that I'm not rambling on here are my CE28s I'm waiting to put on. I can't think of anyone else on the forum right know with this exact size/offset/color. 17x9 +40 Mercury Silver. I'm pretty sure these wheels have been whored out and owned by at least 3 or 4 people on the west coast before ending up with the guy I bought them from on the east coast.

And for nostalgic purposes

To get concave in a 17 you're going to have to go 9.5 +35 or 10 +45. You already know NFR's setup so I'll speak about the 10 +45, with a 255, it really wouldn't be that bad, you'd want to roll flat with a ~5mm pull in the rear, and in the front you'd probably want a pretty good roll with a flare or stretch a 245.

Either NFR's or this setup really wouldn't be that bad, but if you want the functional but aggressive look be prepared for work. You WILL have to play around with what works for your setup, especially since tires run differently depending on which ones they are.
Thanks for the help man! I do like functionality and still being able to drive the car haha. What about a 17X9 or 17X8.5? Would those fit with less work? I know they won't be concave but in the interest of functionality that might be the better route. I have a set of bronze SE37K's in 18X8.5 +40 from my STi that are in excellent shape but I dont know how I feel about an 18 on the S2K. I would have to get new tires for those if I did use them as I have 245/40-18's on them now.
To answer your question, yes there are a few options for CE's that will fit easier, but as you said they won't be concave. The SE37's that you have will not work because the pcd is different for the Subie. For the CE's in a 9j you could do +40, +43, or +54. You could also do 9.5 +47. Truth be told though, if you're wanting 255's, I would do 10 +45 before I did 9 +40 or +43, because the tire stretch will actually make it a little easier to fit. All in all, it's up to you. If you were going to eventually do a BBK up front that would change what you'd want to do.

As far as overall sizing, go check out http://www.willtheyfit.com/

You can enter tire sizes and everything, and it'll show you how 2 different setups will compare.

Do you need to roll fender with 17x9 +40 all around?
