(OT) What would Ohio S2KI do?
Haven't been around here lots lately because of work and I just wanted to start a fun Friday night thread......
I love my 2006 RL but have been increasingly enamored of the new Caddy CTS-V. 556 hp, RWD, good-looking, pure driving fun, relatively inexpensive compared to similar sport sedans like the M5 or AMG C63. I can't get it out of my mind...it's like I'm obsessed. I'm in disbelief that Detroit is capable of making something like that. At the same time, I just don't want to spend the money on such an extravagance right now.
In the RL's favor is SH-AWD, which has some application in dry and wet weather, and is a godsend in snowy NE Ohio. See link in my sig below for a link to my RL mods. I've got some mods that increase whp 13-14 hp (sloppy estimate of 315 crank hp given stock 290 hp and 37% drivetrain loss--yes, it's that high). If I keep it, which is most likely given the way the economy looks, I'll probably spend a bit less than $3k installed on a Mugen body kit to change the look and stave off new car fever. Here's what it looks like:
Love the sharp chin in the front.
So here's my question. Would you keep the RL and do a few more mods, or go for the CTS-V? All in good fun, remember!
Either way, I'm keeping my S.

I'd keep the RL considering the economy. The body kit with the Mugen rims is sharp, and I'm curious to see if that A-spec release was correct about offering a supercharger for the RL, which would get you a big bump in power.
It would be nice to have the CTS-V, but then what would you winter drive. Trust me, if the answer is the S2000, you may want to reconsider, as it is just too small to daily drive unless you absolutely need to, considering you are used to a RL and Pilot.

Bunch of Honda fanboi answers.
CTS-V = Destroy the RL. May even destroy the new NSX.
I'd only keep the RL because i'm cheap.

Wow, I simply posted it'd be better in the bank account to keep the current car that is (or is nearly) paid off.
Honda fanboi maybe (prolly cause I have a job when 10's of thousands of others are no longer employed by GM), but it seems a logical decision with the current economic crisis. Besides, buy the GM product and be instantly upside down to a company that may no longer exist in another two years.
I also said what would he drive in the winter? Certainly wouldn't be the Caddy with all that power and the RWD. Of course, practicality be damned.
