Default Plate bulb?

Is it illegal to replace the white bulb in the back to a blue one? I saw one on this site and it looked cool. I have heard from other folks in other states that cops are jerks about it and can pull you over. anybody know the rules around Central Ohio?

I pretty sure that in Ohio your plate bulb has to be white.

Any blue lighting is illegal in Ohio. You are also not allowed to use red on the front of a vehicle either.

like the above post says.. anything that may diminish the visibility of the rear license plate can be considered illegal.

slightly OT, but make sure your registration sticker is CLEARLY visible. My registration sticker was partially blocked by the dumb license plate frame I had. I was ticketed for it (in Cleveland).
