does the intake make a buzzing sound at idle..? just curious

That is a vacuum line that goes to the vacuum valve assy bypass control. The bypass is bolted on to the frame under the airbox or relocated to the intake tube on an aftermarket intake. The white piece in between the vacuum lines there is just a check valve.
The other end of the line is routed to the intake manifold lines.

Hmm... first of all, James, I'm having a difficult time trying to determine whether your post was serious or if you're just being a wise @$$. Due to the length of your explanation and the lack of smilies, I am forced to conclude that it was serious.

Anyhow, I wasn't talking about the line. What I meant was the black/brown stuff on the bottom part of the block(?). Normally, they appear pretty clean, like this...



... so, I thought he might have a crush washer that needs replacing. However, considering the age of the vehicle, I suppose it could be just dirt or someshing. Just a little concerned ever since I read this thread.
