If you hear something vibrating. Check between your firewall and tranny. The oil cap can fall back there and get stuck. When I bought my car I had a vibrating noise and come to find out the oil cap was stuck and they just replace it with a new one.

good news. well i took it to honda. he tested a bunch of stuff and put it on the lift, he said that sometimes they just pop out of gear. since it hasnt happened since that one time. not to worry too much. but if it starts happening some more then come back and see them. but they think the vibration noise is coming from something behind the dash. like a washer that is loose or something. im gonna tear a couple things out off the motor and see if something is just loose on there.

but all seems good so far! yay for not having to buy a new tranny
also check for exhaust shielding. that stuff can vibrate loose over time and create a rattle like you've described.

glad to hear that your tranny is good and it was probably operator error ;-)

(don't kill me, i had to throw it up there or else i wouldn't be a smartass ;-) )

you mean to tell us that your oil fill cap came unscrewed from your valve cover and got stuck back there? weird.

The oil cap getting lost behind the engine is very common. The gasket will sometimes fall off the cap and people put back on upside down and the cap comes loose and u gotta fish it out
