Advice on Best Rain Tire
Hi, I live in Coos Bay, Oregon and my 02 has 14,000 miles. The rears are bald and was wondering if I should stick with the S'02's or switch. Would appreciate any advice you can give on best tires during the rainy season. Thank You, Jody
1. Bridgestone S0-3
2. Yokohama ES-100
3. Dunlop SP9000
4. Michelin Pilot Sport. ( Have not used personally, but customer feedback have always been positive)

I've personally used these tires and all are better than the S02's on wet surfaces. On dry surfaces So2's are the best for the S2000's.

Hi Jody,
I run the Dunlop Sport 9000's and I can personally vouch for them. When I upgraded my wheels, I had the choice of losing some dry traction to get better performance in the wet and safer performance in terms of hydroplaning. I chose the latter, but have been surprised at how little dry traction the Dunlop's seem to give up. Bear in mind that I run wider rubber -- 225f and 255r -- so it's not an apples-to-apples comparison, but the bottom line is that I love the tires. The breakaway is predictable with more warning than the stock S02s. They seem to hold up well, even on the track (I'm too lazy to swap out wheels/tires for the track). And they definitely perform better in the wet, particularly in terms of not hydroplaning.
Good luck,
CB

You know....I've been running the SO3s now because of a new wheel size. I would go back to the SO2s if I could. Mine has always been a daily driver and I never had problems with the SO2s in the rain. (I never let mine get below the wear bar.)
