Also Ken are you sure it's quieter or is it just that there aren't massive holes in the corners anymore?

I definitely would like to take you up on that offer! Where did you order your top? I will go ahead and order it today, and when it arrives I will set up a trade through work to get a day off that works best for you. Again, thank you for the help, it is much appreciated.

Haartz stayfast cloth ordered and should arrive next week. Excited to be able to put my top down again soon without it disintegrating.

I'd also recommend the modifry top elastic fix if you haven't done it already.

Another piece of the puzzle revealed itself today.
I wanted to give the S a bath since I just put new wheels on it. So I hopped in the car and started it as usual. It idled for a little over a minute and then dropped revs and died. Upon attempting to restart it, it turned over and ran for maybe a second then died again. Further attempts yielded similar results.
A little bit about the car. It's an 04 with 62xxx miles. On a fresh tune up. No MIL lights. And ran just fine last time I drove it which was about 8-10 days ago.
I hooked up some jumper cables to it thinking it might be a weakened or low battery and attempted to start it again with a similar to previously stated result. Now, I know that putting the wheels on it didn't cause this anomaly of failing to start to occur, lol. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've never experienced this in either S I've owned, and searching online as to a probable cause seems to yield many different possibilities. New wheels and a new top might make the car look new, a fresh tune up and a clean bill of health might make it run like new, but none if it matters if I can't actually get the car to run to begin with. Any ideas or knowledge of a reputable and knowledgeable S2000 mechanic would be appreciated as I want to get my car back up to speed so to speak as soon as possible. Thanks everyone.

By any chance did you also give the engine bay a deep cleaning? Wondering if you got some water somewhere it shouldn't have been? Check for loose spark plugs?
